Senior German MP due in Iran tomorrow on Geneva deal
TEHRAN (FNA)- A high-ranking German lawmaker plans to pay an officials visit to Tehran on Monday to discuss the latest developments in the implementation of the nuclear deal struck by Iran and the six major world powers in Geneva late in November.

Deputy Chairman of the German Christian Democratic Party (CDU) Andreas Schockenhoff said that he is slated to have different meetings with the senior Iranian officials on the ways to implement the Geneva deal's details in his five-day trip to Iran, the Islamic republic news agency reported.

He pointed out that although the interim nuclear deal is valid only for six months, the accord can ultimately pave the way for a comprehensive agreement.

What has been agreed in Geneva is only a first step in search for a comprehensive solution, said Schockenhoff.

He urged all sides in the nuclear row to take advantage of this window of opportunity to address the outstanding issues.

The German lawmaker said this window of opportunity should also be used to lower regional tensions.

The conservative legislator pointed out all parties in the nuclear dispute had a great interest in a final deal.

Schockenhoff reiterated the six world powers were serious in their offer to Iran.
