A look at Iranian newspaper front pages on February 26

26 Feb 2018 - 16:07

IFP - IFP has taken a look at the front pages of Iranian newspapers on Monday, February 26, and picked headlines from 22 of them. IFP has simply translated the headlines and does not vouch for their accuracy.

A resolution adopted by the UN Security Council on a 30-day ceasefire in Syria was the top story in almost all newspapers today. Some papers described the truce as a ‘nominal’ one, and some blasted the terrorists’ shell attacks on Damascus in spite of the ceasefire.

Also a top story was the remarks made by Judiciary Spokesman Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ejei about various topics, particularly the possible prosecution of former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad over his offences.

Several papers also covered the comments made by Iranian First Vice-President Es’haq Jahangiri about the need for development of Makran Coasts in southeastern Iran, and its impact on the improvement of employment and security in the region and the entire country.

The above issues, as well as many more, are highlighted in the following headlines and top stories:
