Zahra Mostafavi Khomeini, daughter of the Ayatollah Khomeini, has asked Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to revoke the Guardian Council’s decision on barring Hashemi Rafsanjani from standing in next month's presidential election, Jamaran reported.

 
Iran MP: GC adopted political approach rather than religious and legal
Commenting on the Guardian Council’s decision to disqualify Hashemi Rafsanjani, Ali Motahari, a conservative Member of Iran's Parliament has said that the Council adopted a more political approach than a religious and legal one, Young Journalist Club reported.

 
Ahmadinejad vows to pursue Mashaei’s rejection through Supreme leader 
According to Fars news agency, Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says he will pursue the disqualification of Esfandiar Rahim-Mashaei through Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. Ahmadinejad has also called Rahim-Mashaei and his supporters to be patient, saying he would ask the Supreme leader to reverse the ban on Mashaie.

Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani will not contest his disqualification from next month's presidential poll, Eshagh Jahangiri Rafsanjani’s campaign manager was quoted by Mehr as saying.
