8 Jun 2014 - 23:53

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Governor General of Iran’s West Azarbaijan province Ghorban Ali Sa’adat underlined the development of commercial interactions with Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan region.

In a Sunday meeting with Nozad Hadi, the governor general of Iraqi Arbil province, Sa'adat called for increasing the level of trade exchanges between the two sides.

He said that the value of trade between the Iranian province and the Iraqi Kurdistan semi-autonomous region, which currently stands at $250 million, should rise.

Sa'adat also called for the expansion of bilateral cooperation in such fields as health tourism and the development of industrial parks.

Nozad Hadi, for his part, described the ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq as important for the region and hoped that bilateral relations will further expand.
