Two onshore rigs to start operation

1 Jun 2014 - 23:27

TEHRAN June 1 (Shana)--Two onshore drilling rigs are to start operating in two different projects in Iran, managing-director of Dana Energy Group said.
Mostafa Khoei said one rig is to start operation in a salt dome in Nasrabad near the central city of Kashan.

“Gas storage in salt domes is a big advantage for the country, because high pressure in the wells will remove any restrictions to gas injection and recovery,” he said.
He said Dana Energy is also active in spudding onshore and offshore oil and gas wells.
Dana Energy’s onshore rigs are currently drilling exploration wells in Sepehr bloc, South Azadegan field as well as in the southern Fars province.
Khoei said Dana Energy currently holds more than 60 percent of Iran’s petroleum industry market, which is valued at 270 million dollars.
Dana Energy has so far signed contracts worth more than three billion dollars for different oil projects.
The company also carries out seismic operations.
