TEHRAN, May 7 (MNA) – An Oil Ministry official has said NIOC has negotiated oil exploration plans with a British oil company.
Abdolreza Asadi said that within 2 days of the 19th International Oil, Gas, Refining, and Petrochemical Exhibition in Tehran, the NIOC had negotiated with 5 Asian and European companies to export oil and related products. “Iran has negotiated with 10 oil companies from Asia and Europe in the sidelines of the Exhibition,” he added.

Companies who were Iran’s parties in the negotiations are from Norway, Britain, Iraq, Turkey, Poland, Italy, Kazakhstan, and Sweden; he was quoted by Mehr News as saying

“Five companies made proposals to purchase oil and its by-products such as sulfur and LPG during negotiations. Five other companies expressed willingness to invest in Iran’s oil and gas upstream industries,” Asadi asserted.

He also pointed to negotiations with a British company on joint investment ventures in oil and gas exploration and production. “The contractor discussed the international state of oil industry and new generation of oil agreements in the negotiations,” he added.

Hamidreza Golpayegani, the head of the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) had said that he had negotiated with an Iraqi delegation led by Sadeq al-Yaseen, Iraq’s deputy oil minister, to ‘expand cooperation in drilling industry training services. “The NIDC has the capability to export engineering and technical services in drilling to Iraq and other neighboring countries,” he said.
