TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Esteghlal assistant coach Majid Saleh has been appointed as assistant coach of Iran's national football team on Monday.

Saleh will participate in the 23-day pre-World Cup camp, which will be held in South Africa from April 14, Iran's Football Federation official website announced.

Earlier this month, Oceano da Cruz was introduced as Portuguese assistant coach of Carlos Queiroz.

“I am so happy to be at the World Cup. I will do my best in the competition as an Iranian coach,” Saleh told the Tasnim News Agency on Monday.

Iran has been drawn along with Argentina, Nigeria and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2014 World Cup.

Iran will play Nigeria in Curitiba on June 16.
