Iranian films to compete in Indian film festival

A number of Iranian screen productions have been selected to represent the country’s cinema at the sixth International Children’s Film Festival in Lucknow, India.

Kind Moon by Nazanin Sobhan-Sarbandi, Mammy Crow and the Fox directed by Mohammad Ali Soleimanzadeh, Lesson by Mehdi Boustani, The White Slopes by Ebrahim Moayyeri, and Mr. Principal by Hassan Aqakarimi are in the Iranian film lineup.

Gordaleh and Auntie Ghuleh by Nadereh Torkamani, The Pearl directed by Sirus Hassanpour, The Foster Child by Vahid Nikkhah-Azad, Bald Pigeon Fancier by Sadeq Javadi and Wedding Party by Mahin Javaherian are also some other films that will be displayed at the festival.

Most of the films in Iranian lineup have participated in many international events and received awards.

The event is held to promote entertaining, educative cinema among young audiences and to explore the possibilities of using the visual medium as a tool for better entertaining, educational, material, human and spiritual improvements.

The 2014 edition of Lucknow film festival is scheduled to take place in the city of Luknow from April 7 to 15.
