TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's Ambassador to Ankara Alireza Bigdeli announced on Wednesday that top diplomats from Iran, Azerbaijan and Turkey are due to take part in a meeting on Friday to discuss new avenues for expanding all-out ties among the three neighboring states.
He stressed that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Azeri and Turkish counterparts Elmar Mammadyarov and Ahmet Davutoglu, respectively, are scheduled to hold talks in the Turkish city of Van on March 14.

The Iranian envoy reiterated that Iran, Turkey and Azerbaijan, enjoying valuable geopolitical situation, share several commonalties.

Iran is Turkey's second biggest gas supplier after Russia.

Turkey uses a significant portion of its imported Iranian natural gas to generate electricity.

Iran has recently enhanced efforts to boost political, economic, security and cultural ties and cooperation with the regional and neighboring countries, specially the Central Asian states, including Republic of Azerbaijan.
