Tehran, March 10, IRNA – World Assembly of Islamic Awakening (WAIA) aims to define role of Muslims in the world geometry, Secretary-General of the WAIA Ali Akbar Velayati said on Monday.
He told reporters on the sideline of the three-day meeting of Supreme Council of World Assembly of the Islamic Awakening.
?Fighting extremism as well as sowing discord among Muslims is top priorities of the Muslim Ummah.?
Velayati underlined that Muslim Ummah suffers spread of sectarian violence while it needs unity and solidarity.
The three-day meeting of the Supreme Council of World Assembly of the Islamic Awakening is attended by a large number of political and religious figures from several Muslim states including Palestine, Lebanon, Egypt and Tunisia.
