TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President's Chief of Staff Mohammad Nahavandian in a meeting with Oman’s Ambassador to Tehran Saud bin Ahmed bin Khalid al-Barwani underlined the country’s determination to expand relations with Oman, specially in the gas and transportation sectors.

Nahavandian pointed to the visit by Oman’s Sultan Qaboos to Iran last year, and said, “During the visit, grounds were prepared for the further development of cooperation between Iran and Oman in economic, gas and transportation sectors, which should be followed up on by the two countries’ officials.”

The Omani envoy, for his part, pointed to the close relations between Tehran and Masqat, and said, “We want further enhancement of all-out ties.”

Iranian officials have repeatedly underlined that they attach great importance to the consolidation of Tehran's relations with the Middle-East countries, specially with the Persian Gulf littoral states, in order to protect and promote peace and security in the region.
