President Rouhani urges boost in Iran-Qatar ties

Tehran, Feb 19, IRNA - President Hassan Rouhani here on Wednesday expressed hope that a new chapter would open in Tehran-Doha relations leading to a significant boost in bilateral cooperation between the two Muslim nations.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Qatari Parliament Speaker Muhammad Bin Mubarak Bin Saleh al-Khalifi on the sidelines of the 9th Session of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States (PUIC) whihc kicked off in Tehran Tuesday morning.

Tehran is determined to further bolster all-out ties with Doha, the Iranian President noted, voicing Iran?s readiness to boost economic, cultural, tourism and environmental relations with friendly Qatar.

Referring to Iran-Qatar ties as historic and friendly, the Qatari Parliament speaker wished success and prosperity for the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He expressed his satisfaction with the serious developments which are taking place during President Rouhani?s term in office.
