TEHRAN, Feb. 16 (MNA) – The Deputy-Chief-of-Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces has said Iran’s soft power has acted as a ‘containing force’ against military threats by the US.
Mehr News quoted IRGC’s official website report that Brig. Gen. Seyed Masoud Jazayeri, the deputy for Basij and Defense Culture of the Armed Forces Chief-of-Staff speaking in the sidelines of Defense Promotions meeting. “The Islamic Republic of Iran’s supreme defense capabilities have always acted as containing effect against the enemies,” he added, and that “the era of unilateral wars has long been over, and the Iran’s great nation would deliver ‘a heavy blow on US mouth’ if it had initiated an attack on Iran.”

“The US blind devotion to  Zionism is a source of shame and ignominy for American people and society, a clear indication that the US would suffer greatly a crucial blow from supporting Zionism,” said he.

Jazayeri also lavished praise upon the high public turnout in the streets 22 Bahman,’ and said that this year’s rallies were in part response to the ‘shameless and impolite’ remarks by the US officials about Iranians, and “the clear indication of a solid position by Revolutionaries against the excessive demands of the Dominance front.”

Jazayeri believed this year’s rallies also as ‘of lessons for the US to learn.’ “People indicated their patience and resistance on the face of hardships and difficulties and the importance of total reliance on domestic capabilities and seeking defiance of the US,” he added, believing that “this was a source of the fear for the enemy.”
