A senior Russian diplomat says the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has found no violation by Iran of last November’s nuclear deal between Tehran and the Sextet of world powers.

“As far as we know, the Agency has no claims against Tehran at the moment regarding the fulfillment of the Geneva agreements,” Interfax quoted Director of Russian Foreign Ministry’s Security and Disarmament Department Mikhail Ulyanov as saying on Friday.

The diplomat was referring to the deal signed between Iran and the six major world powers – the United States, France, Britain, Russia, China and Germany – last November.

The agreement took effect on January 20 after the United Nations atomic agency confirmed Iran’s suspension of uranium enrichment to 20-percent purity level.
“We regard as the main criteria of the Iranian fulfillment of the commitments it undertook under the Geneva Plan of Action, the conclusions and opinions of the IAEA, which is entrusted with playing a key role in the evaluation of the availability or absence of illegal nuclear activity in Iran,” Ulyanov said.
The Russian official underscored Iran’s “unprecedented level of cooperation with the IAEA” regarding access “to any facility of interest to the Agency.”

“The IAEA does not have questions about Arak either. IR-40 reactor works are frozen and a technical status quo is being maintained, including the suspended production of fuel assemblies for this facility. Iran is honoring the Geneva agreements on its centrifuges, as well,” Ulyanov stated.

As recently as January 29, IAEA inspectors paid a five-hour visit to the Gachin uranium mine in southern Iran.
