13 Jan 2014 - 13:10

Iran is planning to present a number of the country’s cinematic productions in Serbia’s two cities of Novi Sad and the capital city of Belgrade during holding a Film Week.
A number of Iranian feature length films are scheduled to be screened at the event, concurrently with holding Fajr film festival in Iran.

The program was confirmed during the meeting of Iranian cultural attaché in Serbia Mahmoud Shalouie with the director of Yugoslav Film Archive in Belgrade Filmography Museum Radoslav Zelenovic.

Organized by the Iranian cultural office in Serbia, Iranian Film Week is annually held in the capital city of the country.

Serbia’s second largest city, Novi Sad is to host the festival for the first time. The program has been organized by the city’s municipality.

This year’s event has been organized by Iran’s cultural office in Serbia in collaboration with the country’s Cinema Organization and Farabi Cinema Foundation.

The 2014 Iranian film week in Serbia is scheduled to take place from February 4 to 11 in Belgrade and the program in Novi Sad will be announced later.

Acclaimed Iranian filmmakers Majid Majidi and Seyyed Reza Mirkarimi are among the list of 22 directors from the world who received the Special Mention and Golden Seal of Belgrade Filmography Museum.

Iran has participated in several international film festivals in Serbia such as International Festival of Tourist, Ecology, Sports and Culinary Films, MEFEST.
