Moscow DetectiveFEST to screen Iranian films

Two Iranian police dramas have been selected to take part in the 2014 international film festival of detective films and television programs DetectiveFEST in Moscow.

Iranian filmmaker Kazem Masoumi’s two productions The Burnt Matches and Punishment are slated to compete at the Russian festival.

Both screen creations have been produced by Amir Hossein Sharifi who will attend the festival.

The Burnt Matches is to represent Iran at the cinematic feature length section and Punishment will be screened at the Tele film category.

Iran shined at last year’s  DetectiveFEST  with the filmmaker’s Reza Daduie’s police drama The Interpretation of a Dream that garnered three awards at the festival.

Daduie’s film picked up Special Jury Prize and two other top awards at the 2013 international film festival of detective films and television programs DetectiveFEST in Moscow.

Organized by the non-commercial partnership "Detective Production Company, DetectiveFEST was established in 1999.

The principal activity of the Company is organizing the annual International Film and TV Festival of detective films and television programs on law-enforcement themes "Law and Society."

The slogan of the Festival is "Fight against crime and terrorism is an international responsibility!"

The 16th edition of DetectiveFEST will be held in Moscow from April 16 to 20, 2014.
