18 Dec 2013 - 10:59

A land mine explosion in Qasr Shirin in Kermanshah Province has killed an 18-year-old man.
The Kordpa website reports that Jahanbakhsh Rostami was killed after a land mine left over from the Iran-Iraq War exploded near Yekeneshan Base.

The report indicates that 13 people have been killed due to land mine explosions in the past three months.

This week, Farid Qaderi, a 26-year-old porter in Salas Babajani town in Kermanshah, was caught in a land mine explosion that claimed one of his legs.

Iran has one of the worst land mine problems in the world, because so many are left over from the Iran-Iraq War in the eighties.
