No problem with oil exports to India

17 Dec 2013 - 17:28

Tehran, Dec 17, IRNA – Director of the International Affairs Department at National Iranian Oil Company Mohsen Ghamsari said on Tuesday that export of crude oil to India will continue without any problem.
?Iranian oil consignments are destined to Indian ports without any problem,? said Ghamsari.

Ghamsari said oil tankers carrying Iranian crude oil are now berthing at Indian ports.

Reuters on Monday reported likely transportation problems facing export of Iranian crude oil consginments to New Delhi and the berthing of Iranian oil tankers in Indian waters.

India receives Iranian crude oil consignments through Iranian tankers and export of non-oil and industrial commodities are possible through ships of Hafez Darya and Safiran Payam Darya shipping lines.

An Indian official announced recently that following recent nuclear accord between Tehran and the G5+1, sanctions are expected to get less effective and to this end, New Delhi is busy mulling possibility of increasing oil purchase from Iran.
