Iranian films to compete in Bulgarian film festival

A number of Iranian screen creations have been selected to represent the country’s cinema at the 6th Sofia Menar International Film Festival in Bulgaria.
The Painting Pool by Maziar Miri, The Sealed Secret by Hadi Moqaddamdoust, Wet Letters by Marjan Ashrafizadeh,Kissing the Moon-Like Face directed by Homayoun Asadian and The Last Winter by Salem Salavati are among the feature length line up.

First Night of the Winter by Arash Rafiei, A Friend for My Friend by Sarkaot Mohammadi, A Rose for Majnoun by Ahad Ebadi, Beyond the Dead End by Pouria Heidari, TravellingMashallah Mohammadi, Motherly by Navid Nikkhah-Azad,Pomegranate Is the Fruit of Paradise by Teimour Qaderi will represent Iran in short film section.

Loqman Khaledi’s film Moving Up as Iran’s only representative is also slated to compete at the documentary section of the event.

Sofia Menar film festival presents the selected cinema productions from the Middle East and North Africa to make Bulgarian movie goers familiar with the culture and traditions of the Islamic world.

Over 70 films from different countries such as Egypt, Algeria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Jordan, Oman and Palestine will be showcased at this edition of the event.

The 2014 Sofia Menar International Film Festival will take place in the Bulgarian capital, Sofia, from January 15 to February 2.
