Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov have concluded a bilateral meeting over the Islamic Republic’s nuclear energy program in Geneva.
The meeting was held on Friday between Zarif and Ryabkov, who is representing his country in the ongoing talks over Iran’s nuclear program.

The details of the one-on-one meeting have not been revealed.

The talks about Iran’s nuclear energy program started between Iran and six world powers - the US, France, Britain, Russia, China and Germany - in Geneva on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, Iranian deputy foreign minister and member of Iran’s negotiating team, Abbas Araqchi, said the nuclear talks with six world powers have reached a critical stage, emphasizing that higher-level talks are now necessary.

Araqchi also stated that Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is to attend tripartite talks with EU foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton, and US Secretary of State John Kerry.

Zarif is also to meet with British Foreign Secretary William Hague, French Foreign Minister Lauren Fabius and German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle.
