Iran to seriously follow up US spying on Supreme Leader

5 Nov 2013 - 12:58

Tehran, Nov 5, IRNA – Iran would take serious and specific measures about the US spying on Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s visit to Kurdestan province in 2009, it was reported on Tuesday.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham said the case would be scrutinized and followed up from different aspects, mostly political aspects.

Speaking to reporters at her weekly press conference, she expressed hope that international mechanisms and efforts started against such illegal acts on senior officials of other countries would immune the international cyber space from espionage cases which are “unprecedented violation of privacy of both the world citizens and their leaders.”

Afkham stressed that Iran supports all global moves to that end.
