Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will pay an official visit to Iran late November to attend a ministerial meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
Heading a high-ranking delegation, Davutoglu will visit Tehran on November 26 to participate in the 21st Meeting of the Council of Ministers (COM) of ECO.

During his visit, the Turkish foreign minister will also meet with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif to hold talks on bilateral relations as well as regional developments, particularly the Syria crisis.

Davutoglu will also discuss the exact time of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Iran as well as Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s trip to Turkey.

The 21st Meeting of the Council of Ministers (COM) of the Economic Cooperation Organization will be held in Tehran on 24-26 November 2013.

ECO is an intergovernmental regional organization established in 1985 by Iran, Pakistan and Turkey for the purpose of promoting economic, technical and cultural cooperation among member states.

The organization was expanded in 1992 to include seven new members, namely Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

ECO provides its members with a platform to discuss ways of improving economic development, and promoting trade and investment opportunities.
