An Iranian lawmaker has hailed the latest round of negotiations between Iran and the six major world powers in Geneva as a step forward.
Deputy Chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Mansour Haqiqatpour on Thursday described the agreement for a meeting between sanctions, nuclear and scientific experts from Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council - the United States, China, Russia, France and Britain - plus Germany prior to the next round of talks as "unprecedented" and as indicating the success of the talks.

“Even though the details of the talks were not disclosed, there are indications that this round of negotiations were more serious and technical compared to the previous ones,” he said.
“Another positive point about the Geneva negotiations was the focus on time management and prevention of time wastage,” Haqiqatpour pointed out.
The Iranian legislator also underlined that the two sides’ resolve to swiftly hold the next round of negotiations was a notable achievement of the Geneva talks on October 15-16.

“The positive aspects of this round of talks attest to the strong willpower of the two parties to settle the [Iranian nuclear] issue. We hope that the negotiations will produce good results through recognition of Iran’s [uranium] enrichment right and the removal of sanctions,” he said.

Iran and the six powers wrapped up two days of talks over the Islamic Republic’s nuclear energy program in Geneva, Switzerland, on Wednesday. The two sides have agreed to meet again in the Swiss city on November 7-8.

A joint statement issued by the two sides read, "The participants also agreed that E3+3 and Iranian nuclear, scientific and sanctions experts will convene before the next meeting to address differences and to develop practical steps."

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif described the talks as “extensive” and “fruitful.”

EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton also hailed the nuclear talks as the “most detailed” and most “substantive” ever held between the two sides.
