Egypt declined permission for Turkish Foreign Minister to meet Morsi

9 Oct 2013 - 11:10

SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association)– Egypt rejected Turkey’s request for its Foreign Minister Davood Oglu to meet the deposed President Mohammad Morsi.
Turkish Zaman newspaper quoted diplomatic sources saying Ankara is ready to meet with the military backed government in Cairo if the Egyptians allow Davood Oglu to meet Morsi.

The Egyptians in return said we welcome a meeting with Oglu but will never allow him to meet Morsi. Following the clashes of last September in Egypt Turkey called its ambassador from Cairo and Egypt reciprocated. At the time Turkey called the army take over in Egypt a Coup but after a few months is changing its policies towards the new government in Cairo and is trying to re-establish contacts.
