8 Oct 2013 - 9:07

Tehran, Oct 7, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif on Monday underlined all-out expansion of Tehran-Havana ties in economic, trade, technological and scientific spheres.
In a meeting with Cuban Ambassador to Iran Vladimir Gonzalez, on Monday, Zarif said ways of promoting bilateral ties should be discussed during Tehran-Havana Joint Economic Commission session.

Zarif wished the Cuban diplomat success during his mission in Tehran.

“Both Iran and Cuba share many capacities for further expansion of relations, in trade and economic spheres in particular, given their common stances on key regional issues.”

He also referred to his meeting with his Cuban counterpart on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, underlining key role of Cuba in the international forums, including the Non-Aligned Movement.

He called for strengthening of mutual cooperation and consultations on key international issues, during Iran’s NAM presidency.

He hoped for settlement of regional and international problems and issues through sharing information.

Submitting a copy of his credentials to Zarif, Gonzalez hailed Iran’s stances on Cuba in international fora.

He said he would do all within his power to upgrade mutual ties in economic and commercial domains.
