Iran wins 17th Men’s Asian Volleyball Championship

Iranian volleyball players have retained Asia’s volleyball champion title after beating South Korea 3-0 in the Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship.
The reigning Asian volleyball champions defeated the Koreans on Sunday by winning three straight sets 25-19, 25-22 and 25-19 in the finals of the tourney in the United Arab Emirates.

On Saturday, Iranian volleyball players reached the finals round of the games by beating powerhouse Japan.

Iran defeated the Japanese side by winning three straight sets 25-19, 25-16 and 25-13 in the semifinals.

Iran had hit Lebanon by 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-17) on October 5 to reach the semifinals.

Iran had beaten South Korea 3-1 (25-19, 25-16, 22-25, 25-23) on October 3 to book a place in the quarterfinals of the tournament.

The Asian games kicked off in Dubai on September 28.
