Tehran-Ankara trade transactions to increase to $35b, official

Sanandaj, Kurdestan prov, Sept 29, IRNA – A Turkish official here on Sunday called on both Tehran and Ankara to increase the volume of bilateral trade transactions to $35 by 2015.
The Commercial Counselor of Turkish Embassy in Tehran Alper Cakiroglu made the remark in a meeting attended by representatives of the provincial private sector.

Putting the current volume of the two countries trade transactions at $2.3 billion, he said the non-oil import has reached $6.4 billion.

He stressed that Turkey is interested in further expansion of its trade transactions with Iran.

The Islamic Republic of Iran enjoys huge oil and gas resources, he said, adding that the European Union attaches great importance to Iran’s energy, and hence a large number of European countries mull expanding trade ties with Iran.
