Tehran, Sept 17, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday said the Islamic Republic of Iran has always viewed Strait of Hormuz as strait of peace, friendship and brotherhood.
Speaking to Omani Minister in charge of Defense Affairs Sayyid Badr bin Saud al Busaidi in Tehran on Tuesday, Rouhani referred to the age-old close relations between Iran and Oman and underlined all-out expansion of relations between the two countries, in the defense field in particular.

Saying that Omani Sultan Qaboos’ recent visit to Iran produced positive results, Rouhani said Iran’s diplomacy gives priority to expansion of cooperation and relations with neighboring states, especially Oman.

The Omani minister, for his part, conveyed the warm greetings of Omani King to President Rouhani and wished prosperity and success for the Iranian government and nation.

Terming King Qaboos’ recent visit to Iran as “successful” the Omani minister said defense cooperation between Iran and Oman has thus far been positive and constructive.

“Certainly, based on the will of the Iranian President and Omani King, further interactions between officials of the two countries would help promote mutual relations.”
