Qatari PM calls for expansion of ties with Iran

TEHRAN (FNA)- Qatari Prime Minister Abdallah Bin Nasir Bin Khalifa Al Thani in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Doha Mohammad Javad Asayesh underlined the need for the further expansion of ties between Tehran and Doha.


During the meeting in Doha on Monday, the two high-ranking officials discussed ways to develop and strengthen the bilateral relations between Iran and Qatar in all fields.

The Qatari prime minister pointed to the old-age relations between Iran and Qatar, and underlined the need for increased reciprocal visits by the two countries’ officials.

The Iranian ambassador, for his part, expressed the optimism that Tehran and Doha would further deepen their bilateral relations in different fields.

Iran and Qatar have recently augmented efforts to further expand ties and cooperation in all the different political, economic, defense and security fields.

The two Persian Gulf littoral states recently signed several protocols to increase mutual cooperation, specially in different areas of security.
