Blind Iranian music maestro Ali Jafarian passes away

Contemporary Iranian national music composer Ali Jafarian has passed away at the age of 77 at a hospital in the Iranian city of Shiraz.
The blind music maestro, after undergoing heart surgery at Shiraz heart hospital, met her death on Friday, August 30, the musician’s son Ardalan Jafarian announced.

Born in Tehran, Jafarian lost his full sight of his eyes during an accident occurred at the age of 12.

He studied music in a music school along with his education in a school of blinds with the Braille system.

His training in music was under the supervision of Ali Vaziri Tabar, Manouchehr Rashidi, as well as passing some courses of Abulhassan Saba’s school with Habibollah Badiei.

The veteran composer began his formal music debut in collaboration with Radio and Television in Tehran in 1966.

Created various melodies, Jafarian has been teaching music in several music schools in Shiraz.

"Nothing can stand in the way of progress, not even blindness," Jafarian said.
