TEHRAN, Aug.21 (MNA) – Iranian football player Omid Darbandi was found dead in a well in Kahrizak, located south of Tehran, the Iranian media reported on Monday.
Darbandi, 22, was kidnapped a week ago and his captors demanded $30,000 ransom, according to his father.

“They (kidnappers) told me my son is alive but warned me he will be beheaded if we don’t pay ransom. Finally, police found my son’s body in a well. Police said my son was stabbed to death on the first day,” Reza Darbandi was quoted as saying by the Iranian Student News Agency.

Omid Darbandi was former Iran U-14 football team and also played in Saipa and Niroye Zamini football teams.
