Italian film festival to screen Iran’s ‘Under the Colors’

Iranian director Esmaeil Monsef’s short screen production Under the Colors has been selected to contend for awards at the 12th Concorto Short Film Festival in Italy.
The movie is scheduled to represent Iranian cinema at the competition section of the festival held in the Italian commune of Pontenure.

The movie depicts the story of a mysterious female garment, which is found in a soldier’s garrison.

Under the Colors competed in the Shorts 5: Spotlight Middle East, Shadows and Light Section of the 48th edition of Chicago International Film Festival.

The 20-minute short-length production was also presented at the 2012 edition of the Golden Apricot Film Festival in Armenia and the 2012 Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival in France.

Monsef has produced more than 30 short films and documentaries. His first production, Oyan, was awarded at the Cervino CineMountain Festival and Trento Film Festival in Italy.

Organized by the nonprofit association Concorto, the short film festival is annually held in different categories of Animation, Documentary, Experimental, Fantastic, Fiction and Other.

The 12th Concorto Film Festival will take place from August 24 to 31, 2013.
