TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki plans to visit Iran soon, a Saudi daily reported.
Al-Maliki plans to step in Iran at the top of a high-ranking delegation to hold talks with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and other senior officials of the country, al-Watan quoted sources close to al-Maliki as saying.

The two sides would discuss bilateral ties between the two countries, regional developments and Syrian crisis.

Iran and Iraq have enjoyed growing ties ever since the overthrow of the former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, during the 2003 US invasion of the Muslim country.
