At least six people have been killed in an airstrike carried out by a US assassination drone in Yemen’s southern province of Abyan.
A Yemeni military source said on Sunday that the attack was carried out overnight in al-Mahfad District.

The source added that the drone targeted two vehicles during the strike.

The United States often uses its assassination drones to hit targets in Yemen and some other countries including Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The facts on the ground show that civilians are frequently killed in the raids.

According to the Washington-based think tank, the New America Foundation, the US killer drone attacks in Yemen almost tripled in 2012.
