Iran’s Hossein Vafaei has conceded defeat against his Welsh rival at Scottish Open snooker 2023.

According to The Iran Project,Vafaei was defeated by Welsh snooker player Daniel Wells 4-3 in the preliminary stage and was eliminated from the sporting event.

The Scottish Open main event gets underway at Edinburgh's Meadowbank Sports Centre, as reigning champion Gary Wilson aims to defend his title against a stellar cast of the sport's biggest names.

Judd Trump and Luca Brecel compete in the sporting event, but Ronnie O'Sullivan has withdrawn.
