The Iran Project - The Islamic Republic of Iran Army has ibegun a large-scale drone exercise featuring numerous advanced reconnaissance and combat drones.

Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, the deputy chief of the Iranian Army for Coordination, revealed that around 200 drones are being deployed to cover strategic waters in the Persian Gulf, the Sea of Oman, and various regions of Iran.

The surveillance drones, operated by the Army's Ground Force, Navy, Air Force, and Air Defense Force, successfully conducted intelligence-gathering and patrol missions on the first day of the exercise.

The drones used in the drill include Chamorosh, Yasir, Sadeq, Pelican VTOL naval drones, Ababil-3 tactical surveillance unmanned aerial vehicles, Yazdan, Ababil-4, Ababil-5, Kaman-12 (Bow-12), Kaman-19 drones, and Mohajer-6 ISTAR aircraft.

These drones monitored the country's borders and identified designated targets within the exercise area and international waters.

To coordinate the expanding drone capabilities and various missions, the Army has established the Zolfaqar command and control network.

Sayyari emphasized that this exercise showcases only a fraction of Iran's achievements in domestically-developed drones.

Iran has made significant advancements in the drone industry in recent years.

Major General Mohammad Baqeri, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, stated that foreign demand for Iran's sophisticated unmanned aerial vehicles surpasses its production capacity.

Despite previously facing arms embargoes, Iran is now confronted with export bans on its domestically developed military products.

Major General Baqeri highlighted that major world powers are competing to purchase Iranian weapons, as Iran has become a prominent player in the drone industry, outperforming these powers.
