Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organization said in a statement on Tuesday that it identified and arrested two organized riot teams in the northern Iranian province of Gilan.

The two teams, consisting of 12 people, identified and arrested by IRGC’s Intelligence Organization were seeking to recruit and organize individuals for malign activities by holding secret meetings, according to the statement.

The statement also added that the teams were arrested before they could carry out any operation, while they had planned to attack on sensitive government and law enforcement centers, restart violent protests throughout Gilan Province.
