Iran’s national junior fencing team finished runner-up at the 2022 Asian Juniors and Cadets Fencing Championships in Uzbekistan.

The Iranian team stood second in the saber fencing category in the competitions.

Nima Aqaei, Sam Zolqadri, Mobin Razavi and Amir-Mohammad Shafiei played for Iran’s national team coached by Mojtaba Abedini and Masoud Fathi.

Iran’s junior saber fencing team was defeated by Uzbekistan’s team in the final stage and received the silver medal.

In the meantime, Aqaei grabbed the first bronze medal after 21 years for Iran in the singles in the saber category.
