Pompeo has made world more dangerous, Iran’s Foreign Ministry says

27 Apr 2020 - 17:26

Tasnim – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran took a swipe at US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for his failure to achieve any diplomatic gains, saying the world has turned into a more dangerous place during his tenure.

In a post on its Twitter account, the Iranian Foreign Ministry denounced Pompeo as the “secretary of hatred” who has failed to achieve any diplomatic success during his term in office over the past two years and a half.

“During his (Pompeo’s) ministerial term, the world has become more unsafe, the US has become more hated and more humiliated, no peace has been achieved, and no stability has been restored anywhere in the world,” it added.

In a tweet earlier this month, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Abbas Mousavi hit back at Pompeo for claiming that “Iranian diplomats” were behind an alleged “assassination” in Turkey, saying the undisputed fact is that US diplomats have long been involved in the business of coup and terrorism.

The US secretary of state, who is a former CIA agent and also known as secretary of hate, and his masters have taken the “job” to a whole new level that is called "medical terrorism”, Mousavi said.
