12 Feb 2019 - 9:52

IRNA – Kazakhstan envoy to India Bulat Sarsenbayev announced that his country is determined to develop trade relations with India through Iran's Chabahar Port.

According to NAI news agency, Sarsenbayev referred to Iran's Chabahar Port saying Kazakhstan trade is developing and has considerable capacity for trade.

After finalizing Chabahar, a railway is supposed to be launched through Chabahar Port and will be connected to Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan in the future.

Kazakhstan has suggested developing North-South corridor, he said adding that India has also taken measures in this field.

This corridor will be developed to Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan through Chabahar.

It will be then connected to India and Afghanistan.

The strategic, geopolitical and geo-economic position of Iran has always been considered by the great countries of the world.

Suitable position of railways and roads and Iran's access to the long coasts of the Persian Gulf, Oman Sea, the Makran, and the Caspian Sea coast in recent years has been of great interest to the world's largest producers.

The International North–South Transport Corridor (INSTC) is a 7,200-km-long multi-mode network of ship, rail, and road route for moving freight between India, Iran, Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Central Asia and Europe.

Earlier, the Managing Director of Chabahar Free Trade and Industrial Zone Abdolrahim Kordi said, “Chabahar is one of the significant Iranian points, as it provides the best chance for reducing burden of US oppressive sanctions against Iran.'
