Iran sympathizes with Mexico over gasoline pipeline blast

Tasnim – Iran’s Foreign Ministry expressed sympathy with the Mexican government and nation over the tragic explosion of a ruptured gasoline pipeline that has killed scores of people.

In a statement on Saturday evening, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi sympathized with Mexico in the wake of the deadly pipeline blast in the State of Hidalgo.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran stands with the Mexican government and nation in such a hard situation and voices its readiness to provide any help,” he added.

He also expressed sympathy with the families of victims of the incident and wished health for those injured.

At least 73 people were killed in the incident in which a ruptured gasoline pipeline exploded Friday evening.

At least 74 others were injured, with seven of those under the age of 18.

Residents in the immediate vicinity of the pipeline, which runs from the cities of Tuxpan to Tula, have been evacuated.
