Exports to Qatar drop 11% in volume, rise 44% in value

21 Nov 2018 - 10:49

MNA – Iran's exports to Qatar have dropped 11% in volume and increased by 44% in value in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 – Oct. 21).

After Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain severed their diplomatic ties with Qatar due to political reasons, a golden opportunity was created for the Islamic Republic of Iran in order to expand its business ties with Qatar.

According to the studies conducted on Iran’s foreign trade with 100 countries in the world, statistics show that the trade volume for non-oil products exchanged between Iran and Qatar in the seven months of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 21 – Oct. 21) stood at 858,541 tons, amounting to USD160,568,000.

While the volume of trade has decreased by 11%, the value has increased by 44%, which indicates that more valuable products had been exported to Qatar compared to the same period last year.
