IRNA – Saeed Badami Shabestari has been appointed as Iran’s new ambassador to South Korea upon a proposal by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and approval of President Hassan Rouhani.
Badami Shabestari replaces Hassan Taherian.
He used to serve as the head of Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Second Bureau for East Asia and Oceania and has been also a senior diplomat in Iranian embassy in Beijing.
Badami Shabestari arrived in Seoul on October 11.
