14 Oct 2018 - 15:14

IRNA – Iran’s ranking has improved from 32 to 22 among 163 International Organization of Standardization (ISO) member-states, said the head of Iranian National Standards Organization (INSO) on Sunday.

“This years’s motto of the world standards day is ‘International Standards and Fourth Industrial Revolution’,” said Nayerh Pirouzbakht in the ceremony held on the occasion of world standards day in Iran International Conference Center Conferences.

“The role of standards in small and medium enterprises, sustainable development, and opposing trade wars was stressed in this year’s ISO General Assembly,” she added.

She referred to the recent national and international achievements of INSO, adding that an Iranian was selected as the ISO Technical Management Board (ISO/TMBG) member last year.

Iran's First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri also attended the ceremony.

On October 14, 1946, heads of the standard organizations of 25 countries decided to found an international body in charge of creating and updating global standards.
