IRNA – Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl referred to Iran nuclear deal as the result of multilateral diplomacy, saying US walkaway from the deal has undermined mutual trust.

According to Russian media 'Russia Today' Kneissl made the remarks addressing the 73rd session of the UNGA.

'JCPOA is the outcome of international action and subject to independent verification regime which must be preserved,' she said.

Elsewhere in her remarks, Kneissl referred to the war in Yemen saying Yemeni crisis is the biggest tragedy of the time.

Saudi Arabia and its regional allies attacked Yemen in March, 2015. Since then, thousands of Yemeni civilians including women and children have been killed or injured. Millions of people are also suffering from diseases, famine, and malnourishmment.

After Washington's May 8 exit from the historic Iran Deal, the US gave 90 to 180 wind-down period to other countries before it starts re-imposing oil sanctions on Tehran on November 4.

Part of the US illegitimate sanctions were imposed on Iran on August 9.

US President Donald Trump also said he would reinstate the US nuclear sanctions on Iran and impose “the highest level” of economic bans on the Islamic Republic.
