MNA –Iranian actress Mahraveh Sharifinia has won the Leading Actress Award in the Cyprus International Film Festival 2018.

Mahraveh Sharifinia won the award for starring in Iranian film ‘Wander About Me’ directed by Ghazaleh Soltani.

In the festival, the Iranian film competed against films from various countries such as China, India, Japan, France, Canada, and was nominated for best first time feature film directors and leading actress awards.

The Iranian actress won the Leading actress award in competition with two films from Romania and France.

The jury decided to award the French film with the best first time feature film directors award.

The Cyprus International Film Festival 2018 was held in coastal city pf Paphos in the southwest of Cyprus.

At the closing ceremony of the event, which was held in the presence of a number of diplomats, Hamid Reza Anvari, the First Counsellor of Iran’s ambassador to Cyprus, hailed the Iranian culture and art and highlighted the success of Iranian filmmakers in recent years.

Anvari further invited the Cypriote filmmakers to attend the Fajr International Festival annually held in Iran.
