Iran: Not everyone will take orders from Washington

9 Jun 2018 - 15:42

IRNA – Iran's ambassador to London said that the US assumption on other countries' willingness for taking its orders is an illusion.

Although the US is a powerful country, but there are also other major players on international and regional arenas, Hamid Baeidinejad told CNN on Thursday evening.

The US Secretary of State is mistaken if he thinks that other countries are willing to take Washington orders, he said, adding that the reality is that the countries want to have relations based on international law.

The orders of the US, on the contrary, are fully in violation of the international law, the diplomat said.

The US is violating the nuclear deal and at the same time, the UN Security Council resolution, according to the Iranian envoy.

Commenting on the Europe to fulfill its promises on the deal, Baeidinejad said that this was a matter of Europe's credibility.

Europe should try to find a way as soon as possible for keeping its promise, he said.

Answering a question on the fate of the nuclear deal, he said that the collapse of the deal is not unimaginable, but they—Iran and other signatories to the nuclear deal—were trying to find possible ways for saving the deal.

The situation is a difficult one, as the US not only is violating its obligations, but also it is threatening other countries to refrain from cooperating with Iran, he said.

The ambassador also described the idea of holding talks for an additional, complementary or substitution deal as a deceitful strategy.
