Iran, Oman discuss military ties at joint commission meeting

MNA – Iran and Oman discussed ways to expand military-security relations for the next year during the two countries’ 14th joint commission meeting hosted on Sat. by General Staff of Iranian Armed Forces in Tehran.


During the first round of the joint commission’s meeting on Saturday, Iran and Oman reviewed the progress of agreements and transactions between the two sides, and discussed plans for further development of military ties and international police cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the meeting, Armed Forces General Staff Deputy for International Affairs Gen. Ghadir Nezami said Iran-Oman joint military commission shows the two countries’ resolve to establish peace and stability across the region and the world.

“The joint military commission between Iran and Oman is one of the most stable commissions in the region that has tremendously helped the expansion of relations between the two sides,” he said.

He stressed that close relations among Muslim states is a highly determinant factor given the current situation in the Islamic world and the Middle East region.
