IRNA - President of Iraq's Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Masoud Barzani and Iran's envoy to Baghdad Iraj Masjedi held talks on bilateral ties.


In the meeting held in the capital city of Iraq's Kurdistan region, Erbil, on Wednesday evening, the two officials also discussed holding a conference on Iran-Iraqi Kurdistan economic opportunities.

The two-day conference, attended by a number of Iranian and Iraqi economic officials, as well as businesspersons from the two countries, began on Wednesday in Erbil.

The Iraqi politician and Iranian ambassador described the event as an important step towards expanding ties between Iran and Iraq.

The latest developments in the region and Iraq were also discussed in the meeting.

The Iranian ambassador arrived in Erbil to participate in the economic conference.
