Rouhani submits Iran’s membership in IAF bill to parliament

MNA – Iranian president has sent the bill of Iran’s membership in International Astronautical Federation (IAF) to the Iranian parliament.


The bill which was previously proposed by Iran’s Information and Communications Technology Ministry (ICT to the cabinet, now is being submitted to the Parliament by President Hassan Rouhani in order to be discussed and approved by the MPs there.

The introduction of the bill reads that Iran’s membership in regional international organizations is aimed at securing the national interests of the country and is in line with the principles and objectives of Iran’s foreign policy.

The International Astronautical Federation (IAF) is an international space advocacy organization based in Paris, and founded in 1951 as a non-governmental organization to establish a dialogue between scientists around the world and to lay the information for international space cooperation. It has over 340 members from 68 countries across the world. They are drawn from space agencies, companies, universities, professional associations, government organizations and learned societies. It is linked with the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) and the International Institute of Space Law (IISL) with whom the IAF organizes the annual International Astronautical Congress (IAC).
